Building History

The foundation of all that we feel good about at Holy Apostles is our experience of the Lord who warmly embraces us, powerfully carries us, magnificently empowers us, and who especially loves us without limit and beyond all that we can imagine or think.

In the year 1884 ground was broken "In the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit" to establish Holy Apostles Parish to meet the spiritual needs of the people of our neighborhood. Our first Church building built in 1884, it was the first of its kind in the Diocese as it was both a church and a School. Bishop McQuaid was thrilled about this combination. He called Holy Apostles "A church of the day" meaning it was built to minister to modern day needs... Among those pastoral needs were the unchurched children and youth in our neighborhood during the time our Parish began. The Parish grew so rapidly that our present Church building was built and a new addition to the school just 12 years later in 1896.

Historia del edificio

El fundamento de todo lo que nos hace sentir bien en Santos Apóstoles es nuestra experiencia del Señor que nos abraza cálidamente, nos carga poderosamente, nos fortalece magníficamente y nos ama especialmente sin límites y más allá de todo lo que podamos imaginar o pensar.

En el año 1884 se rompió el terreno "En el nombre del Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo" para establecer la Parroquia de los Santos Apóstoles para satisfacer las necesidades espirituales de la gente de nuestro vecindario. Nuestro primer edificio de la Iglesia, construido en 1884, fue el primero de su clase en la Diócesis, ya que era tanto una iglesia como una escuela. El obispo McQuaid estaba encantado con esta combinación. Llamó a los Santos Apóstoles "Una iglesia del día", lo que significa que fue construida para atender las necesidades modernas ... Entre esas necesidades pastorales se encontraban los niños y jóvenes sin iglesia de nuestro vecindario durante el tiempo en que comenzó nuestra Parroquia. La Parroquia creció tan rápidamente que nuestro actual edificio de la Iglesia fue construido y una nueva adición a la escuela solo 12 años más tarde en 1896.
